One man took an ax and hit the tree all day long with it but didn't get the job done.
Another who had the understanding of how to hold, swing, and angle the axe felled 20 trees.
They both gave personal attention to the tree.
... someone said to me,
"...so you just gave them a little personal attention."
Anyone might give personal attention. It's not the personal attention, but what is in the person giving.
No, I didn't just give them a little personal attention.
Perhaps frustrated, how to communicate so people will understand, it's not how much money, or how much time,....
it's what's in the teacher.
The schools need clean air flow (polluted air is not so good). Try walking down a hall at Old High shoulder to shoulder during winter flu season.
The schools need working water fountains. The schools need the teaching ways used before they switched to Dick and Jane books and "progressive education".
The problems started way back in the 1930's and has gotten worse since then. The Great Depression, followed World War II,
followed by the Golden Fifties gave 3 decades of schools being left to their own devices. Much that should be taught is not.
Much that should not be wasting student's time, is done. The system is failing America. The children are paying the price of the ignorance built from 70 years of neglect by parents.
And the teachers don't know it because they've been taught by an inbred system of education colleges that "goes with the flow of new research for education"
It's like this, 40 years ago, a college student could go to most universities and get a degree in economics that taught him
to believe in Keene's theory of economics, or to a few and get a degree that taught Milton Friedman's and Reagan's style of economics.
Totally opposite theories and brutally divided camps. Same thing with the current Progressive Education and Traditional Teaching.
We have 70 years of "Progressive " teachers in teachers colleges teaching their way deeper and deeper to new teachers.
We have allowed the new history, the new math, the new reading, the new writing, and the new spelling,... and the results
are terrible for all but those who get good foundation given at home.
It's not how many times you swing the ax
it's how you do it
