WFISD Parents and Students
can make better decisions when true choices are known.
It's very hard to get the school "system" to tell you anything except what they want you to hear. Maybe if we hold back their bond money until they give us what we want....a New Elective Class and keeping local neighborhood schools

Give your child the best class possible.
Only with your awareness and help can it happen.

Help improve your school district at WFISD. Parent responsibility required in WFISD.

Look at these two administration buildings
for the same number of students in WFISD

Present                                                   1964

Current Administration Building after growth of administration ...  Admin Bldg 1961, before red-tape got more control than the parents
See the little one story three room building that's so small it is almost completely hidden by one tree? That's the previous administration building in the 1000 block of Holliday St. behind the St Paul Lutheran Church.

Both administration staff's served very nearly the same number of students. Except there were more students when we had only the three room administration building.
Do you know why the tremendous increase in "administration" services? As a voting, tax-paying parent or patriotic citizen you should know why.

Simple choice you must make

The goals of this site include:

    (1) Making alternative choices known to parents and students on all issues in WFISD.

    (2) Providing conservative traditional recommended reading list

    (3) New elective class, only needs 15 parents requests under state law.

    (4) Inform parents of the struggle for control of what is taught and how

    (5) Help parents compare student reading and see what they want for their child.

    (6) Help students gain greater understanding of forces affecting "education."

A wise man wrote the common reason for a person not making the best choice is he didn't know that choice was available. Hopefully this next statement describes you.

I want to make an informed choice of opportunities available from my school.

  1. I want parents, including me, to be informed on the options as to how their children are to be taught.

  2. I want a new elective class in school.

  3. I recognize that being aware of these options could influence how people vote in the next elections.

How can you choose the best option for your child if you are unaware it is available.

To make the best choice, first I must know that it exists and is available to me.

1. Whole language or traditional way of teaching reading, writing, and spelling?

2. New age reading list or traditional and classic reading list.

3. History annals or history stories so my child can learn to understand what was happening.

4. New math or traditional and classic math.

5. Social Engineering? What is it? Who wants it? Where are the sources? Who and why and to what goal? These questions all have answers that few teachers have been told in WFISD.

After having read through this site, you can see a parallel between the big government of King George and the big government of our current big administration building and the government control of what can and can not be in our children's class room. Join this effort to give parents authority over what their children can learn in school. You've lost much ground since President Truman's day, and now is your opportunity to help gain what you want for your child in your school.
