Issues in School

This is not finished. Please email for updates on this page.

Do you choose time proven traditional methods or neo-modern experimental methods?

Do you want to sacrifice foundational learning for more contemporary current event details?

Do you want bulletins sent between administrators classifying parents as the Supplier of raw material (ie the students) to be prepared for the customer (the work force)??? Is this the attitude you have of your child?

Is your student failing?

Is he or she making good grades or A's? If making A's, how much is understood, retained, and connected to living? Example: When students completes two years of chemistry, can they recognize chemicals in your kitchen?
When they memorize extreme details in the KREB cycle of metabolism for biology, do they make the connection to what they need to eat for good health?

History: Do they know how the First Amendment used to be taught, up until after World War II?

Let's take time to evaluate some foundations of learning. Reading: The typical student in WFISD reads about 120 to 140 words per minute.
Some people can talk faster. Reading at 120 is not the way to get through history and literature.

Students can easily get to 300 to 600 wpm, and this makes it possible to read nearly three times as much in the same time. Think that's enough to make a difference? Of course. But did you know about it before reading this?

Vocabulary: has decreased over the last several decades.
